Yesterday, the Baltic Plant General Director told reporters about the Arktika icebreaker fate. The nuclear icebreaker Arktika will enter the home port of Murmansk in November. During sea trials last year, one of the engines burned out on the icebreaker. The nuclear icebreaker was put into operation despite the breakdown. They were going to cut the icebreaker’s hull and replace the engine this summer. In August 2021, the nuclear icebreaker Arktika arrived for repairs. And now it is located at the Baltic Plant next to the icebreakers of the same 22220 series under construction. Earlier, Rosatom representatives stated that they were not satisfied with the reliability, or rather the unreliability of the Arktika icebreaker. Let’s hope that there will be no such breakdowns on the nuclear icebreakers under construction of the same series 22220 Ural and Siberia.

Over the past year since commissioning, the Arлtiлф icebreaker had to be repaired 2 more times. In February 2021, a new oil vapor suction system was installed in low-pressure cylinders. And in June it became known that the icebreaker had to replace the turbine oil. The official representative of British Petroleum in Russia refused to supply oil from Britain.
