The nuclear icebreaker Arktika series 22220 is ready to accept for repair in St. Petersburg. The burnt-out propeller engine replacement beginning is scheduled for August 10-12. Before that, the icebreaker failed transformer was replaced. In addition, in Murmansk, they tried to improve the oil vapor extraction system in low-pressure cylinders.

Vyacheslav Ruksha, Deputy Head of Rosatom and Head of the Northeast Passage Directorate, praised the new icebreaker in an interview with Kommersant. He said that Rosatom has complaints about the icebreaker reliability. «In order to continue building a modern nuclear fleet, we need to quickly increase our competencies in power electrical engineering,» said Vyacheslav Ruksha.
