The new nuclear-powered icebreaker Arktika will be docked in Kronstadt in August. The icebreaker will have to replace one non-working engine. The winding on it was burned out. The engine will be changed at the insurance expense, part of the money will have to be paid to the defective engine supplier. The icebreaker copes with its tasks and with one non-working traction engine, but the Arctic climate and conditions are harsh and often unpredictable, so a nuclear-powered icebreaker must be fully operational. What will be the replacing the engine technology and how long the repair will take is not yet clear. The technology is just being developed.
