There is still hope that the Arktika-M weather satellite launch will take place in February 202102.12.2020
The first Arktika-M (Arctic-M) weather satellite launch has been postponed countless times. Another launch postponement was from December of this year 2020 to February 2021. This time, it is hoped that the satellite will be launched in accordance with the new deadline. So far, the news has come that the Arktika-M has passed thermal vacuum tests.
Let me remind you that in order for a modern and up-to-date Arctic weather monitoring system to work, two high-orbit satellites such as Arktika-M are needed. The second satellite will hopefully be launched in 2023. In the meantime, the weather monitoring system will be incomplete.
